ONU to hold Academic Honor Scholarship Recognition Day
Ohio Northern University will conduct its Academic Honor Scholarship Recognition Day on Saturday, Jan. 26.
This is the third of four on-campus scholarship evaluation days that attract high-ability applicants. These events involve many on-campus and accepted students who have achieved excellence during their high school careers.
About 250 high school students from Ohio and seven surrounding states are expected to attend the event. The students go through written evaluations and will be interviewed by teams of faculty, staff, current students and alumni.
The day will kick off with registration, which begins at 9 a.m. at the Freed Center for the Performing Arts.
An opening session will be held for parents at 10 a.m. as Karen Condeni, vice president of enrollment, welcomes the group. Current academic scholarship recipients also will be on hand to introduce themselves. The parents then will meet with college deans at 10:30 a.m., followed by a scholarship information session at 11:30 a.m. Students will begin the written evaluations and interviews at 10:30 a.m.
Tours and a meeting with the student affairs staff will be available for students and parents following a luncheon in the ONU Sports Center Field House. Lunch will commence around 12:45 p.m. It is anticipated that over 900 accepted students will participate in the four on-campus scholarship days.
