Ohio Northern to Host Community Wellness Fair

Ohio Northern University will host a Community Wellness Fair on Jan. 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the McIntosh Center.

The fair includes booths from area businesses, health care providers, campus organizations and student groups. Those attending can take part in cholesterol and glucose testing, hypertension screening, fitness screening and body composition testing.

In addition, information will be available on diabetes education, family planning, domestic violence, breast cancer awareness, HIV prevention, rehabilitation, intellectual wellness, anti-smoking efforts, healthy food choices, hypertension treatment and prevention, eating disorders and dealing with stress.

Community organizations taking part in the Wellness Fair include the Lupus Foundation of America, Allen County Health Department, Hardin County Family Planning, Hardin Memorial Hospital, Curves for Women, the Lima YMCA, Ohio Consumers' Counsel, Ohio Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Inc., Lima Memorial Hospital System and Crossroads Crisis Center.
