Mr. Jaan Mannik, BSCE '55
"I feel very strong about my support and commitment to Ohio Northern University."
Jaan Mannik, a native of Estonia, arrived with his family in the United States in 1950. In 1955 he received his BSCE from Ohio Northern University. He began his career as a bridge engineer. He later joined T.C. Biebesheimer Engineering Company of Toledo, the predecessor of Mannik & Smith. Over his more than 30-year career, Jaan led the firm to the forefront as one of the leading engineering consulting firms in the Midwest.
"Looking back to my college days, I realize that my professional and business success was built on a solid foundation gained while attending ONU."
Because he recognizes the benefit of an exceptional education, he decided to fund an Ohio Northern University charitable gift annuity. Jaan said, "I believe that giving an annuity to my alma mater will assist others in obtaining a good education and future success."
An ONU charitable gift annuity is an excellent way to provide much-needed funds for students to attend the University. While doing so, you receive above-average fixed payouts for life and certain tax benefits.
Jaan recognized this fact when he said, "It is nice to help the University and at the same time receive long-term benefits that accompany a charitable gift annuity."
