Ohio Northern Hosts Fall Choral Concert
The fall choral concert by the Ohio Northern University Community Chorus and three barbershop quartets will be 7 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 22, in Presser Hall on the Ohio Northern campus. The event is free and open to the public.
Denise D’Arca, professor of music, is director with Kristen McDowell and Julianne Brown as assistant directors and Zachary Koehler and Tara Findley as student conductors. Piano accompaniment is provided by Emily Beers.
In addition to the community chorus two men’s and one women’s barbershop quartet will perform. The concert will feature a variety of works spanning several centuries of choral tradition, from the sublime (Mozart's Ave Verum Corpus) to the ridiculous (the Calypso piece, Lucky Little Cricket, which will include three lucky audience members who will form an on-the-spot percussion section.)
