Christmas Music at Ohio Northern

The Ohio Northern University music department is performing three concerts to commemorate the holiday season.

The annual Christmas Band Concert, featuring the ONU Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble, will be held on Monday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts.

The members of the ONU Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble will perform many popular holiday selections under the direction of Dr. Charles Bates. The concert is for all ages.

Tickets are $8 for general admission, $7 for seniors and $5 for students.

On Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 8 p.m., the Freed Center will also be the setting for the ONU Jazz Bands. The ONU Jazz Ensemble and the Northern Lights Jazz Ensemble will be under the direction of Dr. Charles Bates.

This trio of events will conclude on Sunday, Dec. 17 at 8 p.m. when the holiday spirit moves into Presser Hall for Handel's Messiah, presented by the University Community Chorus.

Tickets are $8 for general admission, $7 for seniors and $5 for students.

Freed Center ticket information can be obtained by calling the Freed Center Box Office at (419) 772-1900 from noon until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
