English language faculty take part in seminar
Bill Trudeau, executive director of ONU’s English language programs, Heather Colyer, BA ’10, program assistant for the Prison Management Certificate Program, and Katie Wade, BA’ 12, took part in the National Geographic/Cengage Seminar on Grammar in Language Teaching at Michigan State University on April 18.
National Geographic Learning hosts the conference annually in cooperation with the Michigan State University English Language Center for over 200 participants from language programs in the area. ONU's English Language Programs and the Prison Management Certificate English Program have participated annually.
National Geographic Leaning is a major producer of textbooks and supporting materials for English language instruction. They have incorporated the most graphically interesting aspects of National Geographic into integrated skills lessons series. This is the third conference they have hosted at MSU and are working with ELP to host a conference here next spring on integrated skills instruction.
