Jan 19, 2007

Ohio Northern University will be conducting its Academic Honor Scholarship recognition day Saturday, Jan. 27th.

This is the third of four on-campus scholarship evaluations days that attract high ability applicants. These events involve many on campus as well accepted students who have achieved excellence in their respective high schools.

About 240 high school students from Ohio and nine surrounding states are expected to attend the event. The students go through written evaluations and are interviewed by teams of faculty, staff, current students and alumni.

The day will kick off with registration beginning at 9 a.m. at the Freed Center for the Performing Arts.

An opening session will be held for parents at 10 a.m. Dr. Kendall Baker, President, and Karen Condeni, Vice President of Enrollment welcome the group. Current Academic Scholarship recipients will also be on hand to introduce themselves. The parents will then meet with college deans at 10:30 a.m. followed by a scholarship information session at 11:30 a.m. Students will begin their written evaluations and interviews at 10:30 a.m.

Campus tours and a meeting with the student affairs staff will be available for students and parents following the luncheon in the ONU Sports Center Field House. Lunch will commence around 12:45 p.m. It is anticipated that over 900 accepted to ONU students will participate over the course of the four campus scholarship days.
