Roepke presents at meeting
Tena Roepke, Ed.D., associate professor of mathematics, and Debra Gallagher, Ed.D., Bowling Green State University, presented “Literacy Strategies to Impact Learning in the College Calculus Classroom” at the Research Council on Mathematics Learning annual meeting, held Feb. 28 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They spoke about their efforts to integrate literacy-based instructional strategies in a college calculus classroom. Specific strategies and classroom examples were discussed. Students were surveyed about their perceptions of these instructional strategies and the impacts they believe these had on their learning of the mathematical content.
