Ohio Northern University student awarded USITT scholarship

Feb 25, 2015

Ohio Northern University student Brandea McIntyre, a senior international theatre production and Spanish dual major from Cincinnati, Ohio, was awarded the 2015 United States Institute of Theatre Technology (USITT) Ohio Valley National Conference Scholarship.

This marks the second consecutive year that an ONU student was selected for this award. Anne Liddick, a senior international theatre production major, was the winner last year. The USITT/Ohio Valley is the region containing Ohio, Northern Kentucky, Western New York and Western Pennsylvania, including Capital University, Kenyon College, Ashland University, Miami University, University of Findlay and Seton Hall University.

With this honor, McIntyre received $300, which will help pay her way to the USITT’s 2015 Conference and Stage Expo in Cincinnati, Ohio, from March 18-21. McIntyre will write a newsletter-type article discussing her experience at the conference to promote attendance by other theatre students to the National Conference.

The Conference and Stage Expo is the entertainment and theatre industries’ leading event for education, networking, and resourcing of products and services. The conference features more than 12 areas of education and meetings for every specialty skill in the industry.
