Ohio Northern University’s Homecoming is ‘A Celebration of ONU Stars’
Ohio Northern University will celebrate Homecoming 2014 from Oct. 3-5. All alumni, friends, family, faculty, staff and students are welcome to attend.
Homecoming, “A Celebration of ONU Stars”, will kick off on Friday, Oct. 3, with registration at 2 p.m. At 6:30 p.m., former athletes will be honored during the ONU Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony and banquet.
The ONU Choral Collage will perform in the Snyder Hall Recital Hall in Presser Hall at 8 p.m.
Beginning on Saturday at 8 a.m., the Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy student chapter of the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) will hold a health fair in the McIntosh Activities Room.
The Dicke College of Business Administration will have its annual breakfast and alumni service award ceremony at 8:15 a.m. This year, the college will honor Larry Boord, a 1971 ONU graduate, with the Alumni Service Award.
At 9:30 a.m., tours of the respective colleges will take place. In addition, there will be an education alumni gathering in front of Dukes Memorial.
The Homecoming parade will commence at 10:30 a.m., and following the parade, an all-alumni meeting will be held outside McIntosh Center.
A family-friendly tailgate party begins at 11:30 a.m. before the Homecoming game against John Carroll, which begins at 1:30 p.m. Music, games, carnival rides and food will be available for all to enjoy. Tailgate tickets can be purchased through the Office of Alumni Relations as well as at registration on Friday and Saturday.
Following the game, the class reunions reception will be held at The Inn from 4-7 p.m.
The entertainment for Saturday evening includes the sixth annual Sigma Phi Epsilon Balloon Glow at 6:30 p.m. and fireworks at approximately 7:45 p.m. “Dancing with the ONU Stars” caps off the evening’s events as local Ada and ONU celebrities compete in the program.
