ONU to Sponsor Public Interest Auction and Pro Bono Symposium
The Ohio Northern University Office of Law Alumni & Career Services, along with The Pro Bono Committee, will sponsor a public interest auction and symposium on Friday, Nov. 30. The symposium begins at 8:30 a.m. and the auction begins at noon.
This year marks the 11th anniversary of the Public Interest Auction. The proceeds will benefit students who choose to participate in public sector legal activities over the summer. These students will work for agencies that help battered women, children in guardian programs, the elderly and minorities. Since students do not get paid a salary for taking these positions, the auction proceeds provide them with much-needed stipends. Local businesses and individuals donate items for the auction.
The Pro Bono symposium, “Professionalism and Public Interest Obligations,” will offer two hours of continuing legal education credits and will break for the auction and a complimentary luncheon.
For more information regarding symposium registration or the public interest auction, visit the ONU Law Alumni & Career Services Web site at www.law.onu.edu or call (419) 772-1980.
