ONU is a College of Distinction
Ohio Northern University has been honored as a College of Distinction for the 2014-15 school year in the 15th annual “Colleges of Distinction” guide. “Colleges of Distinction” is a web-based guide for high school juniors and seniors trying to identify a school that is nationally recognized and highly recommended by professionals in the field of education. Colleges and universities are nominated for participation by high school counselors and then evaluated using qualitative and quantitative research.
Ohio Supreme Court justice to speak to incoming law class
Ohio Supreme Court Justice Judi French will speak to Ohio Northern University’s incoming law class in the Pettit College of Law’s Celebrezze Court Room on Friday, Aug. 22, at 1:30 p.m. Justice French’s lecture will focus on the Ohio Supreme Court and opportunities for attorneys within today’s legal field.
Student move-in begins Thursday
ONU opens its doors to the 2014-15 academic year with the traditional move-in day for incoming freshmen and new students on Thursday, Aug. 21. Classes begin on Aug. 25. Adriane Thompson-Bradshaw, ONU vice president for student affairs, said, “Move-in day is a great tradition at the University, and our staff has been working diligently making preparations for the incoming freshmen. We have several great introductory activities for the students to prepare them for life at ONU and to make their transition to college life easier.”
‘Leading from the Heart’ for educators
Two ONU education alumni, Julie (Herendeen) Travis, BA ’04 and Ryan Malany, BA ’05, will be sharing their experiences of moving from successful classroom teaching into innovative administrative positions in a program set for 7 p.m., Sept. 2 in the Dicke Forum. The event is free and open to the public.

Art professor’s work featured in national exhibit
“Red Chair,” a work by Melissa Eddings Mancuso, professor of art and design, has been selected for the National Small Painting Exhibition at the Witchita Center for the Arts. The painting will be on exhibit Aug. 22—Oct. 12, 2014.
Business Plan Team finishes in top 10 in national competition
The Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy student chapter of the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) Business Plan Team was selected as one of the top 10 teams in the nation for its business plan, “Hygeia Specialty Pharmacy,” in the 11th annual Good Neighbor Pharmacy NCPA Pruitt-Schutte Student Business Plan Competition.

Ohio Northern University Dicke College of Business Administration student Andria Beehler-Evans, a senior accounting major from Bellefontaine, Ohio, was a member of a four-person team that took top honors in the “Project Run With It” competition at the 2014 Beta Alpha Psi (BAΨ) conference held in Atlanta, Ga. on Aug. 6-9. “Project Run With It” is an opportunity for BAΨ members from schools around the world to work together to solve a real client issue for a not-for-profit organization. A total of 72 BAΨ student representatives competed and comprised 18 teams of four members.
