Morgan participates in panel
Dr. Anita R. Morgan, associate professor of accounting and director, MPPA, participated in a panel discussion titled "Teaching Global Accounting Concepts to 'Local' Students" at the American Accounting Association conference on Aug. 6 in Atlanta, Ga. The panelists discussed the challenges and opportunities small colleges and universities face in providing global accounting education to students who bring limited exposure to economic, business and political systems. The panelists presented several innovative programs and strategies that the respective colleges are using and urged the audience to share their own successful strategies. Morgan demonstrated a model she has used to integrate International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) into the undergraduate accounting courses she teaches and provided information about a LinkedIn group she developed in which accounting faculty can share ideas and resources about teaching IFRS and other topics in accounting.
