Spotlight on Involvement

To conclude our summer Student Spotlight, these two students have successfully combined academics, passion and fun in their student organizations. If you’re looking to expand your organizational portfolio, the best place to find an organization that meets your interests and needs is Welcome Fest, held Sunday, Aug. 24, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the King Horn Field House.

Thoughts on Getting Involved:

Football has been a huge part of my ONU experience. I have gained many friends and have learned many life lessons and how to be a leader. FCA has also played a significant role in my time at ONU. We have a great group of active members that meet once a week to unwind from schoolwork and pray, discuss our faith and just hang out. Being involved with different organizations on campus has helped me venture out of my comfort zone and grow in many aspects of my life. Being in these organizations has also given me the opportunity to give back to the community through fundraisers and volunteer work. I have made friends and learned things that I would not have had the opportunity to do otherwise.

Thoughts on Getting Involved:

Joining Greek Life my sophomore year was one of the best decisions I have made while at Ohio Northern. Although I was apprehensive about the Greek experience coming in as a freshman, I quickly learned that the students most involved on campus as presidents, team captains, student senators, volunteers or just friendly faces all had one thing in common: Greek Life. Not only have I learned how to be a successful leader and team player, I also realized the impact that Greek Life will have on my future as I continue to meet new people and network with those in my field. There is such a sense of camaraderie among all of the chapters on campus, and the pride and hard work that each member puts into his/her own chapter still amazes me. Greek Life has opened many doors for me at Ohio Northern, and I couldn't imagine my experience as a Polar Bear without being a member of the Greek community. I highly recommend looking into Greek Life at Ohio Northern. If you are interested in joining a sorority, you can sign up at
