Getting Involved: Student Spotlight

From music, the theatre and culture to sports, service and Greek Life, there are always ways to connect with new friends and old at ONU. The students highlighted this month comment on how the variety of their activities has enhanced their college career, not just inside the classroom but outside as well.

Thoughts on Getting Involved:

So far, what I’ve learned from being involved on campus is that there are plenty of opportunities to get out, meet new people and have new experiences. Also, I have learned to manage my time more efficiently. Being involved on campus has enhanced my ONU experience because I got to make new friends, experience new things and become more outgoing. Most importantly, being involved in various campus activities and organizations has made my college experience very enjoyable.

Fourth-year pharmacy major from Westlake, Ohio

  • Student Planning Committee
  • Ohio Northern Symphony Orchestra
  • American Pharmacist Association, Academy of Student Pharmacists
  • National Community Pharmacists Association

Thoughts on Getting Involved:

ONU has a lot to offer, and I definitely recommend taking full advantage of it. That doesn’t mean that you should join every single organization on campus; rather, join a few and become really involved in them. I’ve learned to organize my time between schoolwork, music, planning events on campus, and going to meetings. I have made so many friends through these groups and have made connections that I never would have made had I not joined them.
