Hello incoming Polar Bears!  My name is Kenneth Barga, and I am currently a P2.  In addition to my PharmD, I will be getting my Chemistry Minor and Business Administration Minor.  I was born and raised in Burkettsville, Ohio – a small town of 250 people in Northwestern Ohio.  Back home, I was employed by a local meat processing plant and a factory throughout high school and participated in religious, nursing home, and extracurricular programs.  While at Ohio Northern, I have had the privilege of joining pharmacy programs such as National Community Pharmacists Association, Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International, Pharmacy Council, and Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity, Inc.  In my spare time, I enjoy watching and playing various sports, although I am good at none of them!  By becoming a Pharmacy Mentor, I look forward to helping all of the new P1s in order to ensure a spectacular first semester!

My name is Nick Bileck. I am a P3 from Pittsburgh, PA. I am involved in several organizations on campus, including Orientation Leaders, Interfraternal Council, APhA-ASP, Phi Mu Delta Fraternity, and ONU Club Lacrosse. I am the oldest child and have two younger sisters. Some of my hobbies include lacrosse, listening to music (especially rock and hip hop), video games, martial arts, and hanging out with my friends. I have many interests including sports (especially lacrosse and hockey), gaming, music, TV shows, and movies.

I decided to study pharmacy because I wanted to help people and solve problems using the fascinating sciences of drug therapy.  The journey to be a pharmacist is not easy, and I want incoming P1s to understand this and help make their transition into college smoother. When I first came here, I felt lost and alone and didn’t really know where to turn. I don’t want future P1s to go what I went through; I want them to know that there is always someone to go to for any kind of help. I want to be that person for them: to be a mentor to guide them and be a friend for them even when they feel they have nowhere else to turn for guidance.

Hello incoming P1’s! My name is Michael Biltz and I am going to be a P2 at Northern this fall. When I am not studying I enjoy working out in the gym, playing basketball, listening to music (hip hop especially Drake, as well as country), playing video games, and watching Netflix. My freshman year of college at Ohio Northern was definitely a transition for me, and there were several moments where I struggled along the way. My hope is that as a Pharmacy Student Mentor, I can help incoming pharmacy students transition into college be as smooth as possible as well as be a person in which you can turn to for help if needed. Welcome to the Polar Bear family, and I look forward to meeting you next fall!

I would really like to get more involved in things outside of academics however. Currently, I’m in Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society, Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society, and I’ve been a chemistry TA. Next semester I plan on joining more Pharmacy organizations. In my spare time I like to watch movies, draw (ink and graphite), waste my time reading Wiki pages, play video games, exercise, cook, know everything there is to know about Marvel, etc. I hope I can help make your transition to Pharmacy a smooth one!
