Health Center on Campus

Karen Schroeder, director of the ONU Health Center, wants students to be informed about the Health Center on campus:

The ONU Health Center is a free, walk-in clinic available to any ONU student, regardless of insurance. No appointments are necessary, unless you need to see a physician. When you visit the Health Center for the first time, you will need to bring your student ID and insurance card. Your insurance will not be billed for health visits, but a bill will be generated by Pathology Laboratories if you need any lab work. If you need an X-ray, you may go to the Ada Medical Center across from the King Horn Sports Center or any other agency of your choice. Bills will be generated from the agency chosen and will be the responsibility of the patient.

The ONU Health Center is located on campus near the new student housing areas (in Lakeview Apartments behind the Freed Center). During the academic year, the Health Center is open six days a week during the following hours:

  • Sunday from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

During the summer, the Health Center is open during limited hours.

The staff at the center consists of:

  • A certified nurse practitioner with hours Monday through Friday
  • A medical physican with limited hours two days a week
  • A registered nurse who covers Sunday evening and hours Monday through Friday

As a reminder, students are required to complete a medical history form with immunizations and TB questionnaire prior to arriving to campus. Forms can be obtained in the Health Center or on the Health Center website. Completed forms can be returned by:

  • Fax to 419-772-2545
  • Mail to 525 S. Main St.
