An article, “Pharmacogenetics in the Community Pharmacy: Thienopyridine Selection Post–Coronary Artery Stent Placement,” is a case study of a 65-year-old man who was treated for a heart attack with balloon angioplasty and placement of a stent. It describes the potential for collaboration between pharmacists and physicians to optimize antiplatelet therapy through pharmacogenetic testing.
