20th anniversary Celebration Dance Concert ONU’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts will present the 20th anniversary Celebration Dance Concert, featuring the ONU Dance Company and alumni, on Saturday, Feb. 1, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 2, at 2 p.m. The ONU Dance Company alumni, along with current members of the ONU Dance Company, have been invited to perform, teach master classes, design costumes, design lights and choreograph. Finn presents paper Dr. Thomas Finn, professor of French and Spanish, presented a paper at the Modern Languages Convention, Jan. 11, in Chicago on the panel entitled "The Vulnerable Female Body in Early Modern Spanish Literature." His research centered on the play "La Margarita del Tajo" by seventeenth-century Spanish playwright Angelo de Azevedo.
Pianist receives glowing review ONU piano lecturer Assaf Sommer was lauded in the Jan. 26 entry of ToledOvations’ review of the Toledo Symphony. “Sommer was the happiest surprise of the evening. Let us hope he returns for more delightful playing" says the reviewer.
Czarniak presents paper Jeremy Czarniak, visiting assistant professor of theatre, presented a paper "The Interdisciplinary Arts Adventure - A Progressive Education Model" at the 12th annual International Conference on Arts and Humanities, held Jan. 9-14 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Czarniak took part in workshops and discussions with arts educators from around the world.
