Three holiday concerts slated
Ohio Northern University celebrates the holiday season with a trio of concerts, beginning with the ONU Jazz Ensemble Winter Concert on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 7:30 p.m., and the ONU Wind Orchestra’s second annual “It’s Not Quite Christmas Yet” concert, titled “Gaudete,” on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 7:30 p.m. Both events will be held in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts. The ONU University Singers and ONU Chamber Singers round out the holiday concerts with their fall concert, “It’s Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas,” in the Recital Hall of the Presser Building on Sunday, Dec. 15, at 7 p.m.
ONU hosts DeVore exhibition, benefit sale
The Elzay Gallery of Art's exhibition, “Benefit Sale: Featuring the Paintings of James H. DeVore,” continues through Dec. 20. The proceeds from the sale of works in the exhibition will benefit the James H. DeVore Painting Award at ONU.
'The Case for Driver Science'
Dr. Edward S. Potkanowicz, assistant professor of exercise physiology, has been invited to speak at the International Council of Motorsport Sciences (ICMS) Annual Congress. The annual congress is being held in Indianapolis, Ind., Dec. 12-14.
Linda Lehman, visiting instructor in education, and Meggie Bierkan, BFA ’09, were selected to present at the 2013 Ohio Art Education Association conference in Toledo, Ohio, in November. Lehman presented a session, “High Success Lessons for Special Needs Students.” Beirkan co-presented a session called “Saving Rain for Sunny Days: Rain Barrel Art."
