Cultural and Special Events committee presents poet Albert Goldbarth

Oct 11, 2007
The Ohio Northern University Cultural and Special Events committee welcomes its fall speaker, Albert Goldbarth, on Monday, Oct. 22, at 8 p.m. in the Freed Center.

Goldbarth, two-time winner of the National Book Critics Circle Award, is the author of over 20 collections of poetry, including "Jan. 31," "Heaven and Earth: A Cosmology," "Saving Lives" and, most recently, "The Kitchen Sink: New and Selected Poems 1972-2007."

Hailed for his unconventional style and wit, The Georgia Review says Goldbarth "may just be the American poet of his generation." His other published works include a novel, "Pieces of Payne," and several collections of essays. Goldbarth is currently an Adele M. Davis Distinguished Professor of Humanities at Wichita State University.

General admission tickets are $3. The Freed Center box office is open Monday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Phone orders are accepted with MasterCard, VISA or Discover by calling (419) 772-1900.
