‘Making Microbiology Even Smaller’
Linda Young, professor of biology and Vicki Motz, assistant professor of biology, are authors of an article in the October issue of The American Biology Teacher magazine. “Making Microbiology Even Smaller” outlines the use of miniaturized microbiological techniques that can be safely used in the high school classroom to reinforce biology concepts and foster critical thinking skills. Additionally, these techniques significantly reduce the cost of materials and hazardous waste disposal while switching from glass to non-breakable plastic for improved safety.
