Beta Alpha Psi inducts new members
Two ONU College of Business MPPA candidates and five students have been inducted into Oho Northern’s Mu Delta Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi on Aug. 29, 2013.
Student inductees included Alexandria Beehler-Evans, a junior in accounting from Bellefontaine, Ohio; Duane Cehelnik, a senior in accounting from Medina, Ohio; Trish Hagar, a junior in accounting from Frederick, Pa.; Jonathon Doran, an MPPA candidate from Mariemont, Ohio; and Jacquelyn Snyder, an MPPA candidate from Tulsa, Okla. Unable to attend the ceremony, Tevin Pruitt, a junior in accounting from Cleveland, Ohio, was inducted in a separate gathering. Distinguished alumnae inductees included Pam Hershberger of Ernst & Young and Deann Newman of Deloitte.
To join Beta Alpha Psi, students must be accounting or finance majors with at least junior standing, and demonstrate dedication in the classroom by satisfying a GPA requirement.
Beta Alpha Psi participants also had the opportunity to network with representatives of nine public accounting firms, including national, regional, and local firms. This event provided accounting and finance students the opportunity to seek out internships, practice interviewing techniques and refine networking skills.
Founded in 1919, Beta Alpha Psi is a honor organization for financial information students and professionals. There are over 300 chapters on college and university campuses with over 300,000 members initiated since Beta Alpha Psi's formation. The primary objective of Beta Alpha Psi is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field.
