Ohio Northern University will dedicate the new turf field in Dial-Roberson Stadium in honor of Bill Robinson, BSEd ’61, ACIT ’71, ACIT ’89, Hon. D. ’05, H of  F ’05, for his service and loyalty to Ohio Northern, which began on the football field. The dedication ceremony will occur during halftime of the football game against Mount Union, and a reception will be held outside the stadium at the conclusion of the game. Admission to the football game is free to the University community with an ONU ID. Game tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for children.

Robinson earned a BSEd from Ohio Northern in 1961 and an MA from Bowling Green State University. Prior to coming to Ohio Northern, he served with the U.S. Army in Korea. He is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans.

Robinson's career at Ohio Northern over 50 years included service as assistant football coach, director of intramurals, sports information director, dean of men, director of McIntosh Center, dean of admissions, director of alumni affairs, executive assistant to the President, and interim vice president for development.  

Students, alumni, faculty and friends of Ohio Northern know him simply as "Robby: Mr. ONU." Robinson's active public service career includes 14 years on the Ada Board of Education (president of the board for 10 years) and current membership on the Ada Village Council. He was Ada's "Citizen of the Year" in 2000. He and his wife, Gretchen, have been generous contributors to the University.
