Ohio Northern University registrar specialist graduates from Allen Lima Leadership program
Kristen Shoemaker, a senior registrar specialist at Ohio Northern University, will graduate from the Allen Lima Leadership (ALL) program on Thursday, Sept. 19. Shoemaker is the first ONU employee to graduate from this program and will be one of 30 graduates from ALL. There have been more than 675 graduates of the program in the past 25 years of existence.
ALL is a countywide leadership program designed to develop new leaders for the community. The purpose of ALL is to be a catalyst to promote positive change in the Allen County/Lima communities by providing an education that will improve understanding of community issues, institutions, self and others and train individuals in advanced leadership principles.
Enhancing the leadership skills of participants that are already in leadership positions throughout Allen County makes the graduates a stronger resource for the community. The many facets of experiences in the class bonds the participants together, enabling them to exchange ideas with their peers and profit from the special events, personal privileges, business benefits and exclusive access the forum provides.
ALL motivates the graduates into action by conducting an ongoing community awareness program. Empowered with a new understanding, leaders then can help improve the quality of community life. Their impact is great, but when community, civic and business leaders participate, the impact is even greater.
