Recruiting rural students topic of presentation
Dustin Jarrett, assistant director of admissions, was invited to speak at a session on the recruitment of rural area students at the Critical Components conference for the National Association of College Admissions Counselors (NACAC), held in May in Portland Ore.
Jarrett made the proposal for the session in October 2012, using statistical and informational data obtained with the help of Dr. Harry J. Wilson, visiting assistant professor of geography, and Omer Minhas, director of institutional research. It was approved by NACAC in January 2013.
NACAC is the governing body for all college/university enrollment offices. The conference drew more than 300 high school and independent counselors from all over the world.
