Phillips to present at theatre symposium
Brian Phillips, BA ’97, technical director of the Freed Center for the Performing Arts, will be a presenter at the Lee Deal Theatre Symposium, Aug. 24, presented by The Arts Council, Huntsville, Ala., and the University of Alabama in Huntsville Theatre Department.
The symposium is geared toward high school, college and adult community theater participants and will include 75-minute workshop sessions that will take place on the UAH campus. Other presenters will include Tiffany Little Canfield, casting director forTelsey + Company; Karen Hinton Ouriel, executive director of Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theater & Academy; and George Quick, executive director of the Chattanooga Theatre Centre. The symposium is supported by the Lee Deal and Friends Theatre Endowment, which is named for the late Lee Deal, a former University of Alabama in Huntsville student and local community theater actor for nearly 30 years.
