Altstaetter elected ECHHO president

Dean Altstaetter, coordinator of outreach recruitment and enrollment advisor, has been elected president of Educators and Community Helping Hispanics Onward (ECHHO).

ECHHO’s focus is to increase the number of college-going students from the Latino communities in Ohio through targeted recruitment efforts, programming, and scholarship assistance. ECHHO is committed to fostering collaborative relationships with parents, school counselors and administrators, college representatives, college access advisors and community liaisons to help Latino and underrepresented students get to college.  The organization plans college fairs, gives presentations in both English and Spanish, and manages a scholarship competition for students going to college.

There are 37 institutions, both private and public universities, mostly in the state of Ohio that are part of the consortium.
