Cardinal Health Foundation awards ONU scholarship grant

Sep 27, 2007
The Cardinal Health Foundation has awarded Ohio Northern University a $15,000 scholarship grant to be used for minority pharmaceutical business-students.

The James F. Dicke College of Business Administration in collaboration with the Raabe College of Pharmacy, created the pharmaceutical-business major in 2006. The major concentrates on three areas: pharmaceutical economics, pharmaceutical-manufacturing management and pharmaceutical marketing and sales.

To best prepare students for professional employment, the curriculum primarily focuses on the pharmaceutical industry.

Cardinal Health's commitment to a safer, more productive and a diverse workforce has led to the decision to fund ONU's $15,000 scholarship grant through the Cardinal Health Foundation.

"We're confident that the unique and creative curriculum offered by ONU will produce students from a wide range of backgrounds who will benefit the healthcare industry," said, Rita Miller, senior specialist in staffing and University and college relations at Cardinal Health.

The grant will provide three $5,000 scholarships to minority pharmaceutical business majors who have a minimum ACT composite score of 20 and a high school GPA of 3.0 or better.
