Polar Bears named to 2014 Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame Class
Ohio Northern women's athletics pioneer Helen Ludwig and former ONU men's basketball NCAA Player of the Year D'Artis Jones will be inducted into Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2014 in May. Ludwig and Jones will join former men's basketball coach Joe Campoli and Ohio Northern's 1993 men's basketball team as recent inductees into the prestigious Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame.
Workshop covers principles of forensic DNA
ONU will host a prosecutor's workshop, focusing on the principles of forensic DNA analysis, from July 28-30. This event is designed for officers of the court who want to further their knowledge of the tests conducted daily by forensic DNA analysts. Participants will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a forensics training facility at ONU. Guest speakers will discuss the various areas of DNA analysis, from the lab to inside the courtroom.

Forrest Clingerman, Ph.D., associate professor of religion, is author of a book chapter titled Working Within the Frame, Breaking Outside the Borders: Intersections in the Theological Experience of Art and Place.”
Dr. John K. Estell, professor of computer engineering and computer science, and Dr. Walter W. Schilling Jr., BSEE ’97, of the Milwaukee School of Engineering, are co-authors of a paper presented at the 2013 American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Annual Conference, held 23-26 June in Atlanta, Ga.
‘Garbage Cannes’ in online competition
“Garbage Cannes,” an essay by Dr. Claude Clayton “Bud” Smith, ONU professor of English emeritus, is a finalist in the new internet PhoneFiction Competition for previously published essays and short stories. PhoneFiciton is a small digital press in affiliation with The Ohio State University and the Urban Arts Space: Idea Labs.
