Our trip to Chicago began early morning Tuesday at 5:30 am when all of us students, and Professor Lambdin, climbed into the ONU vans. All still a little sleepy, but very eager, we made the 5-hour trip to finally come to our first destination after an entire semester of planning. This first stop was none other than the Chicago Bears Front Office. We were initially apprehensive about what our first meeting would be about, but we were quickly put at ease by the outstanding gentlemen who we met. Dan Yuska, Business Development and Archives Director, and Lee Twarling, Senior Director of Ticket Sales and Services, were on hand to educate us in some of the activates which the Bears Front Office partakes in, as well as what they personally contribute. We were able to learn a great deal from the personal experiences that these two very impressive men were able to share with us. Advice for young professionals such as: accept and be able to adapt to change, never underestimate professionalism in everything one does, and have awareness and patience during the first years of a new job, were stressed heavily to us. This meeting was a great way to start off this exciting trip and was very helpful in trying to guide us in our near futures as young professionals joining the workforce. I know I speak for everyone when I say this visit to the Bears Front office could not have gone better and we are all looking forward to what the next few days will hold in store for us.
