Nigerian scholar to speak at ONU

The Ohio Northern University Department of Philosophy and Religion will host a public lecture featuring Nigerian scholar Dr. Murtala A. Bidmos on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 5:30 p.m. in the McIntosh Ballroom.

Dr. Bidmos, associate professor of education, University of Lagos, Nigeria, will present his lecture, "The Impact of Islamic Education on Nigeria."

Bidmos, who received his bachelor's degree in Arabic Language and Literature, and his Ph.D. in Arabic and Islamic Studies, is a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the University of Findlay. He is the author of seven books, including his most recent work Islamic Education in Nigeria: Its Philosophy and Research Methods.

The lecture is sponsored by the ONU Department of Philosophy and Religion in cooperation with the University of Findlay. This event is free and open to the public.
