Law Dean’s Lecture to focus on constitutional interpretation and policymaking Ohio Northern University’s Pettit College of Law will present the 2013 Dean’s Lecture on Friday, April 26, at 4:20 p.m. in the Small Moot Court Room. The program will feature a presentation by Dr. Mark Miller, director of the Law and Society Program and professor of political science at Clark University, called “Constitutional Interpretation and Policymaking: Courts, the President, and Congress in Dialogue.”
Honors Day recognizes academic achievement Ohio Northern University celebrates Honors Day on Saturday, April 27, from 8:15 a.m. until 5 p.m. More than 40 undergraduate academic departments and honor societies will present awards and induct new members. Dr. M.J. “Sunny” Zank, professor of music, will be the featured speaker at the convocation. Zank’s topic will be “Mentor, Mentor, Pass It On.” Caroline Mangan, a senior marketing major from Garrettsville, Ohio, will be the featured student speaker.
Drug take back day Ohio Northern University’s chapter of the American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) will conduct “Medication Disposal Day,” a Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Drug Take Back Day, in the ONU parking lot on the corner of South Main and E. College Avenue on Saturday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to noon.
ONU National Tour Choir plans 38-day tour Starting in Cincinnati, Ohio, on May 13, the Ohio Northern National Tour Choir, made up of members of the ONU University Singers, will perform in 16 states over 38 days. The choir will make stops in Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Oregon, Washington, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Nevada, Missouri and Indiana before completing the tour on June 19 with a home concert at the Freed Center for the Performing Arts in Ada.

The students’ portfolios also will be on display during the closing reception of the senior BA/BFA exhibition on Saturday, April 27, at 1 p.m.
Students to receive ASCP honor awards Two Ohio Northern University students in the West Central Ohio Medical Laboratory Science program have received the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) National Student Honor Award. Jen Tabar, a senior biology major from Hinkley, Ohio, and Stephen Pavlock, a post-baccalaureate certificate candidate who received his Bachelor of Science from West Virginia University, will be presented with a certificate from the ASCP at ONU’s graduation celebration on May 10.
Sen. Hite to speak at National Community Pharmacists Association reception State Sen. Cliff Hite will be the guest speaker at the National Community Pharmacists Association’s (NCPA) annual legislative reception at The Inn at Ohio Northern University on Thursday, April 25, at 7 p.m. Hite will speak on the topics of entrepreneurship and independent pharmacies, current legislation affecting health care, and the importance and opportunities for student involvement in advocacy.
