Cruea named to post
Mark Cruea, instructor of communication arts, has been elected vice chair and program planner for the Great Ideas For Teaching (G.I.F.T.) interest group of the Central States Communication Association for the 2013-14 academic year.
At the 2013 Central States Communication Association meeting held April 6 in Kansas City, Mo., Cruea served as chair of a panel on “Rethinking Television: Content, Effects, and Possibilities.” The panel focused on how television influences perceptions of people and behaviors through a series of presentations examining tween television programming, Mormon portrayals on South Park, and HIV education through medical dramas.
