Laboratory continuing education program to be presented

ONU’s third annual Medical Laboratory Science Continuing Education program will be held at 4 p.m., April 17, 2013, in Room 112 of the Mathile Center for the Natural Sciences, sponsored by the ONU Professional Association of Medical Laboratory Students (PAMLS).

Karen Kier, Ph.D., professor of clinical pharmacy, will present "Clostridium difficile: New Therapy Options." She will discuss how the pheotype of the infecting organism directs treatment of the infection.  The staffs at all of the West Central Ohio Medical Laboratory Science (WCOMLS) program's affiliate laboratories, as well as local health care professionals and the campus community are invited to attend. Through affiliation with Lima Memorial Health System, laboratory professionals can earn one hour of CE credit towards their certification.  

The PAMLS students are responsible for planning and implementing the event.
