Research project proposal

Your proposal must be 1 to 2 pages and have 1-inch margins. Within the top margin of each page, place the document title* (YOUR LAST NAME Weir Research Proposal) in the left corner. If your document is more than one page, add the page number to the top right corner. Use a standard, serif font (e.g. Garamond, Times New Roman) of not less than 10- and not more than 12-point. Your proposal may be single- or double-spaced; if single-spaced, leave a blank line between paragraphs. Follow standard English spelling, punctuation, and grammar conventions. PART ONE: Propose your research. Include a project title*, brief project background, proposed methods, and desired results. You may include images or references, but these are not required. Do not include a budget; that will be a separate document. PART TWO: Explain why this research is important to your personal, academic, and professional goals. PART THREE (optional): If relevant, identify any particular financial need that the Weir Research Scholarship might help offset, should you receive it. *Please note that your document title and your project title will differ.

Research project budget

Your project budget must be 1 to 2 pages and have 1-inch margins. Within the top margin of each page, place the document title (YOUR LAST NAME Weir Research Budget) in the left corner. If your document is more than one page, add the page number to the top right corner. Use a standard, serif font (e.g. Garamond, Times New Roman) of not less than 10- and not more than 12-point. Your budget should be laid out in four columns: 1) the item, 2) the per item cost, 3) the quantity of items required for the project, and 4) the total cost per item. At the bottom of the fourth column, total the costs for all items required for the project.
