Polar Bear Indoor Marathon, Jan. 27

The fourth annual ONU Polar Bear Indoor Marathon will be held Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, beginning at 7:30 a.m. in the ONU Sports Center. One of only four indoor marathons in the U.S., the ONU Polar Bear Marathon will host 40 runners competing at the marathon and half marathon distances of 26.2 and 13.1 miles respectively.

Runners are coming to the ONU campus from 10 states in addition to Ohio.  A national running club, the Marathon Maniacs, will be represented by eight runners who have completed over a combined 600 marathons.

The ONU Polar Bear Indoor Marathon provides support for the ONU track and field team and is organized by Coach Jason Maus. Student-athletes on the team participate by cheering on the runners and counting each of the 211 laps in the marathon so the competitors can focus on their running.

While the race sells out months in advance, all are welcome to come support the runners.
