Mathematics professor presents at Miami University's ‘Statistics in Sports’ Conference

On Sept. 28, 2012, Dr. Mihai Caragiu, professor of mathematics, presented the talk "Some explicit examples of paradoxical tournaments" at the fall conference devoted to Statistics in Sports held at Miami University. The speaker presented a number of arithmetical ways of explicitly constructing examples of k-paradoxical tournaments (the late prolific mathematician Paul Erdős worked on such tournaments, producing one of the nicest probabilistic proofs ever), announcing a new mathematical result of uniform distribution for Paley tournaments.
