‘Capitol Steps’ to perform Oct. 26

Ohio Northern University’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts will present “Capitol Steps” in the Stambaugh Theatre on Friday, Oct. 26, at 7:30 p.m. Thirty years ago, the Capitol Steps began as a group of Senate staffers who set out to satirize the very people and places that employed them. Although not all of the current Steps members are former Capitol Hill staffers, collectively, the performers have worked in a total of 18 Congressional offices and represent 62 years of collective House and Senate staff experience.

‘The Improvised Shakespeare Company’ Oct. 27

ONU’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts kicks off its studio series when it presents “The Improvised Shakespeare Company” in the Stambaugh Studio Theatre on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 7:30 p.m. Based on one audience suggestion (a title for a play that has yet to be written), “The Improvised Shakespeare Company” creates a fully improvised Shakespearean masterpiece right before your eyes.

Band-O-Rama, Oct. 28
ONU’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts presents Band-O-Rama on Sunday, Oct. 28, at 4 p.m. The Ohio Northern University Marching Band (ONUMB) offers an exciting performance to celebrate another successful season when they perform selections from their 2012 premier program, “Sound Dramas.”

‘It must be neurological!’
Dr. Phillip Zoladz, an assistant professor of psychology, is quoted in an article about understanding teen behavior featured in NY Parenting, Simply Family Magazine and Genesee Valley Parent. In the article he says, “The prefrontal cortex does not fully develop until one’s early to mid 20s, which explains why teens continue to act this way until they are at least out of college.”
