Travel Territory:

Northwest Ohio

Why should a student choose ONU?

As a recent graduate, I personally experienced the awesome college environment at Ohio Northern University.  The opportunities to challenge yourself as a student, as a leader, and as a citizen of the world are endless here.  The quality academic environment at ONU enables students to enhance their education by taking the reigns.  Students participate in hands-on projects, present their own work at competitions, and attend national conferences alongside professors, professionals, and peers.  The 200 student organizations on campus give a huge variety of extracurricular activities -service, professional, and recreation.  By getting involved in groups like Habitat for Humanity, Student Senate, and Jazz Band, students can thrive and lead in their passions outside the classroom.  ONU is very active in world service as well as academic travels going to places like China, Ghana, and Costa Rica.  These semesters, internships, and service trips abroad encourage a proactive and informed campus community and enable great personal and professional growth.  All of these aspects of ONU have given me great Polar Bear pride - I can't imagine choosing a different university!

What is your favorite thing about college admissions?

Admissions is the first impression high school students and their families get of our University - we have the opportunity to welcome families and really set the tone for their time at ONU.

What is your favorite thing about Ada?

First as a student, and now as a professional, I have really enjoyed participating in the giving atmosphere of our town, Ada.  Local businesses and student organizations enthusiastically support one another and there are always great community outreach events happening.

What is your favorite thing about your travel territory?

This territory is particularly fun because many students have already been to our campus for different sports and leadership camps/events.  They are often already excited about ONU!
