Princeton Review lists ONU among 'Best 377 Colleges'
Ohio Northern University is once again featured as one of the nation’s top schools in The Princeton Review’s annual college guide, “The Best 377 Colleges: 2013 Edition.” ONU also is one of the 153 institutions that The Princeton Review recommends in the “Best of the Midwest” section of its website feature, “2013 Best Colleges by Region.”


Road work detours campus traffic
Construction on West Lincoln Avenue is nearing completion. A detour remains in effect until Sept. 1. Check the campus map for details.

Spotlight: Faculty & Staff 

Kisor to present in Italy
Dr. David Kisor, professor of pharmacokinetics, was involved in the development of the drug nelarabine, a guanine derivative, used in the treatment of T-cell lymphoma and leukemia, a form of cancer that attacks the white blood cells. In September, Kisor will present a review of nelarabine at an international conference, 2009 - 2012 T-Cell Lymphomas: work in progress, held in Bologna, Italy.

Clingerman presents paper
Dr. Forrest Clingerman, associate professor of philosophy and religion, is the author of a paper presented at a conference in South Africa.  The paper, “The Theological Dimensions of Environmental Identity,” was presented at the culminating conference of the Christian Faith and the Earth research project.

Dolores Moore to hold book signing
Dolores Moore, who taught accounting at ONU from 1974 to 1991, is author of a biography, "I Can't Dance," published by Xlibris, Corp., in May, 2012. She will be at The Inn on Sept. 4 for a book signing from 10:30 a.m. to noon and from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Reviews of the book call it "an inspiring tale of how a child of the Depression overcame the challenges of the early throes of the polio epidemic in the hardscrabble existence of Appalachia to become a successful educator, wife and mother."

Tuition Exchange Information Session

Full-time employees who will have a child enrolled in college during 2013-2014 as first-time freshmen and all other ranks, are invited to learn about the Tuition Exchange Inc. program in a special session at 4 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 18, in McIntosh Room 7. Questions may always be directed to Dr. Juliet Hurtig.

Miniature Books Project opens Elzay Gallery of Art season
“Monumental Ideas in Miniature Books Project” is an exhibition that investigates the power of small-scale artists’ books. The exhibit opens Aug. 27 and runs through Sept. 21. A public reception will be held at 5 p.m., Aug. 31.



Walking for Wellness
Walking for Wellness is a 12-week walking program for ONU employees, offered by ONU HealthWise. Each participant will set daily walking goals and receive a pedometer to track their progress. To be part of the program, contact Amy Fanous, PGY1 resident for ONU HealthWise.

Swim lessons set
Swim lessons for children ages 4-12 will begin Sept. 16. Conducted as a practicum by ONU students in life guarding and water safety instructor classes, the classes are a fundraiser for the ONU men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams. Registration deadline is Sept. 9.
