Chemistry article published

An article by ONU faculty, students and alumni is being published in the August, 2012, edition of Tetrahedron Letters, the international journal for the rapid publication of all preliminary communications in organic chemistry.

Titled “A direct conversion of carboxylic acids to methylthiomethyl esters using a microwave-assisted pummerer rearrangement with dimethylsulfoxide,” the article is authored by Allison McCarthy, a senior in chemistry from New Washington, Ohio, Russell Spatney, BS ’12 in chemistry, Madhuri Manpadi, postdoctoral fellow in chemistry and biochemistry, Brian J. Myers, associate professor of chemistry and Jake R. Zimmerman, assistant professor of chemistry.
