PRSSA student chapter finishes second in national campaign competition

 Ohio Northern University chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) garnered second place in the national 2012 Contiki Vacations Campaign competition.

In finishing second, ONU received $500 for its PRSSA chapter. Indiana University took top honors, and California State University Long Beach finished third.

Members of ONU’s team were Elizabeth Ann Fako, a senior communications arts major from Madison, Ohio; Joseph Henry Sasak, a senior communication arts major from Broadview Heights, Ohio; Courtney O’Banion, a senior communication arts major from Eaton, Ohio; and Kelsi Rupersburg, a sophomore communication arts and public relations major from Wapakoneta, Ohio.

For this competition, teams were challenged implement an on-campus public relations campaign for Contiki Vacations to build awareness among college students who are interested in traveling abroad. Through a unique showcase of creativity, teams encouraged students to talk about traveling abroad and consider Contiki Vacations when making their summer travel plans.

Contiki Vacations is a leading tour operator for college students and others age 18-35 with 200 itineraries to more than 40 countries, including tours in Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, North America, Canada, Mexico and South America.
