David Crago Clay Mathile to speak at undergraduate commencement
Ohio Northern University's 2012  undergraduate commencement speaker  will be Clayton Mathile, BA '62, Hon. D. '91, ACIT '09.  Mathile is the former CEO and owner  of The Iams Company and the founder  and chairman of the board of Aileron, a  nonprofit foundation.

ONU honors students, organizations during President’s Leadership Dessert
Ohio Northern University honored student leaders and organizations during the annual President’s Leadership Dessert on April 25, 2012. The DeBow Freed Leadership Awards, the highest level of recognition for excellence in student leadership, were presented to students according to years spent on campus. In addition, three student organizations were honored with the Alice-Kay Hilderbrand Student Organization of the Year Award in recognition of their active leadership roles at ONU and positive contributions to the campus community.

Undergraduate commencement, May 13
ONU will celebrate its 2012 undergraduate commencement ceremony in the ONU Sports Center on Sunday, May 13, 2012, at 2 p.m. Approximately 600 students will be awarded degrees. ONU alumnus Dr. Clayton L. Mathile, BA ’62, Hon. D. ’91, ACIT ’09, will deliver the commencement address. Megan Piersol, a senior history major from Warren, Ohio, will be the student speaker during the commencement ceremony. Information for those attending is available online. For those unable to attend, live online streaming will be available.

Road work detours campus traffic
West Lincoln Avenue will remain closed until Sept. 1, 2012, due to the Lincoln Avenue Phase II project. Detour signs have been placed on Main Street directing traffic to the sports and science complexes. Check the campus map for details.

Harold L. Putt, Ohio Northern University professor of mathematics, has received the 2012 Oho Section Award for Distinguished College or University Teacher of Mathematics, awarded by the Mathematics Association of America (MAA).

Pair earn AACP scholarship
Lauren Rupp, a fifth-year Ohio Northern University pharmacy student from Archbold, Ohio, and Deirdre Myers, a pharmacy instructor in ONU’s Raabe College of Pharmacy, have been awarded a 2012 American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) Walmart Scholarship.

David Crago Snyder to receive $10,000 MET Scholarship
Joanna L. Snyder, a senior in mathematics from Fort Recovery, Ohio, is one of two students in the nation to receive the 2011-12 Prospective Secondary Teacher Course Work Scholarship, presented by the Mathematics Education Trust (MET) of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
