Math Day brings high school students to campus
ONU professors and math majors conducted a symposium on Careers in Math at the 11th annual Ohio Northern University High School Math Awareness Day, held March 27.
The full day of events was hosted by the ONU Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the Mathile Center for the Natural Sciences.
The seminars were "Why is One Usually First?" by Dr. Sandy Schroeder, "Probabilistic Paradoxes in Paradise," by Dave Mangus, and "The Mathematical Relationship Between Musical Phrases," by Joe Mileski.
Fourteen area high schools attended this event, including Ada, Allen East, Bath, Benjamin Logan, Elgin, Elida, Indian Lake, Leipsic, Liberty-Benton, Lima Senior-PA, Lima Senior-SMI, Lima Central Catholic, McComb, Perry and Van Buren.
