Students to discuss global travels at International Forum
Ohio Northern University’s Gamma Upsilon chapter of the Phi Beta Delta honor society will host an International Forum, featuring ONU students studying abroad, on Thursday, March 29, at 7 p.m. in the Dicke Forum. This student presentation will be moderated by Megan Piersol, a senior history major from Warren, Ohio.
Participating students will discuss their study, travel and general learning experiences in Thailand, Israel and Japan. Daniella Chambers, a senior international studies major from Fremont, Ohio, will discuss her tour to Israel, which was sponsored by the United Jewish Fund. Ayumi Murabayashi, a senior international studies major from Mie-Ken, Japan, will discuss her study in Thailand.
Jiro Kondo, a creative writing major from Tokyo, Japan, who retired three years ago as an officer in the Japanese government’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, will discuss the relationship between parliament and administration in the parliamentary cabinet system of Japan.
Phi Beta Delta is the honor society for international scholars. Founded in 1987, ONU’s Gamma Upsilon chapter of Phi Beta Delta strives to bring together faculty, staff, students and alumni who possess a deep commitment to international affairs, education and research.
