Pinnacle Award honors five    

The Ohio Northern University James F. Dicke College of Business Administration has honored five individuals who have made the highest commitment to the business college with the inaugural Pinnacle Award at a banquet held Feb. 3.

 

 'The Magic School Bus' rolls into ONU

ONU's Freed Center for the Performing Arts will present "The Magic School Bus Live: The Climate Change." on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 7 p.m. "The Magic School Bus" is based on the PBS cartoon of the same title.

 

 

Pettit College of Law to host Diversity Forum

The  Pettit College of Law's 13th annual Diversity Forum will discuss "The 20-Year Legacy of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas" in the Celebrezze Moot Court Room 127 on Thursday, Feb. 23, at 11 a.m.

 

 

Tickets on sale for 'Miss Saigon'

 In combination with the musical theatre program, the symphony will present this musical in full orchestral scoring and limited staging Feb. 24-26. A beautiful retelling of the opera Madame Butterfly set during the Vietnam War, this international sensation is sure to deliver an evening of great entertainment.

'Economy not out of the woods' 

David McClough, assistant professor of economics, has written a newspaper column on the state of the economy that is appearing in the Lima News, Findlay Courier, Toledo Free Press, Columbus Business First, Cincinnati Business Courier and Bowling Green Sentinel Tribune.   

 

KEEN grant received 

Drs. J.D. Yoder, professor and chair of mechanical engineering, and Robert Kleine, associate professor of marketing, are the recipients of a $444,580 KEEN (Kern Entrepreneurship Education Network) grant from the Kern Family Foundation.    

  

Florida funds bridge research 

Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Mohti, assistant professor of civil engineering, is continuing his work with the University of North Florida on a research project titled "Sealing of Cracks on Florida Bridge Decks with Steel Girders."

ONU to host panel discussion about heroin

Ohio Northern University will host a panel discussion about heroin, focusing on drug courts and prison drug counseling, in the forum of James F. Dicke Hall on Monday, Feb. 13, at 7 p.m.

 

Winter Career and Grad/Professional School Fair

 Feb. 16 the Winter Career and Grad/Professional School Fair will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. in the McIntosh Center Activities Room and Lounge. The event is for sophomore, junior, senior and alumni from the College of Arts and Sciences, Business Administration and Engineering looking for full time, internship or summer positions and to meet with representatives from graduate and professional schools. The event is sponsored by ONU's Office of Career Services. Contact Jane Ward to learn more.

 

2012 Learn to Swim classes slated  

Registrations are now being accepted for learn to swim classes for ages 4-12, presented by ONU students to benefit the ONU Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams.

Two sessions of learn to swim classes will be offered March 25, April 1, 15, 22 and 29.
