Math student presents at the University of Dayton

Courtney Brown a junior in mathematics and German from Coldwater, Ohio, presented a paper on a class of absolutely irreducible polynomials in two variables over a finite field inducing the zero function. The presentation took place at the 2011 Undergraduate Mathematics Day, Nov.5, at the University of Dayton. The paper builds on a result of his advisor, Dr. Mihai Caragiu and obtains an explicit formula for a series of such polynomials.
