Reid presents paper at symposium

Dr. Ken Reid, director of engineering education, recently co-presented "Putting the 'E' in STEM Education: Ohio Northern University's Engineering Education Major" at the NWO Symposium on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Teaching, held at Bowling Green State University.  

The presentation, developed by Reid and Dean Eric Baumgartner was presented with the help of Christine Floyd, chair of the science department at Washington Township School District, Indianapolis, Ind.  The presentation focused on the new degree in engineering education and included curriculum developed by Reid and Floyd called "The Tsunami Model Eliciting Activity (MEA)," representative of curriculum that will be developed by students as they pursue this degree. The Tsunami MEA won Best Middle School Curriculum in 2010 from the Engineering Education Service Center.
