Klondike Krunch and Polar Popcorn raise funds for literacy in Hardin County

Klondike Krunch and Polar Popcorn are signature popcorns created for ONU by Shirley’s Popcorn in Bluffton, Ohio. Klondike Krunch is an orange sugarcoated premium popcorn drizzled with white and milk chocolate for a sweet treat. Polar Popcorn is designed for salt and cheese lovers and features white cheddar and cheddar flavored popcorn.

Justin F. Courtney, director of residence life and director of career services, who spearheaded the project, says Klondike Krunch is available in the ONU Bookstore and by special order through Residence Life. Klondike Krunch is $7 and Polar Popcorn is $5 per bag.

The bags are perfect for gift giving and snacking, says Courtney. The bags come in half gallon sizes making them perfect for celebrations and are generous size for upcoming holiday gifts.

A portion of each purchase goes toward Residence Life’s philanthropic project, the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, which provides free books to young children from birth until they enter kindergarten in Hardin County.
